Is it a Boy or a Girl?

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Well, good grief... I won't know until later next week. I had my 18 week appointment with the doc this week, and everything is good so far... but no "gender" ultrasound yet. He wants to wait until next week (week 19) so that he can get better images. I guess this is the time when they really begin checking for defects and such... so, we wait until next Wednesday. The good side of this is that I'll have my u/s at The Martin Center in Springfield which is a very nice (new) diagnostic facility, so my pics should be good. Yeah!

Shopping Shopping Shopping!

We decided to head to Lowe's the other day. And, of course, Grace (and Daddy) felt it absolutely necessary that they "try out" the tractors. Daddy dreamed of bigger decks and more horsepower while Grace focused on aesthetics... you know, color, seat comfort, how many cup holders it had... that's my girl.

We finally made it to the area we came for... the small appliances. Courtney and I have been using an ancient Posterior blender he bought back in the day of his Air Force run in Germany. While it's been a good blender, it's finally met it's match and has given up the ghost. So, we had Grace help us pick out our next blender... it was surprising how many and the range of prices Lowe's carries in blenders! We settled on the $39.99 Oster 16 speed blender w/ the brushed stainless base. I have to say, it's quite nice and the pitcher is wider which makes it easier for me to do my purees (for my Sneaky Chef cooking... but that's another post for a later day).

I decided to go on my next shopping trip on my own... Easter dress shopping for Grace. I've been checking out what's out there on ebay and Craigslist and places like that, but just wasn't finding what I wanted. But, I found it this past week. It is absolutely the most beautiful Easter dress I've seen... and I found it at TJ Maxx of all places! I have a white shrug she can wear with it when we're outside and it's cool. And we'll have to get some new shoes and A PURSE! She's gonna be so darn cute!

My Little Valentine

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Well, another holiday of looooove has come and gone. We attended a Valentine Banquet at the church this year. Grace decided to wear red and pink for the occasion. She even stood still long enough for a picture with Daddy.

We've also had Grandma living with us for the past 2 1/2 weeks. Grace has definitely had some good Grandma time, but now it's off to Florida for ol' Grams... sorry Grace. She'll be back, we promise.

Grace has also had the opportunity to torture one of our cats, Hootie. Poor Hoot, he's fairly docile and does quite well with Grace, but he definitely ends up with the raw end of the deal sometimes.

And, of course, I had to stick a picture of Grace in here with her doggie Zelda. Zelda is awesome. No, really. She's great with Grace. Extremely patient and gentle. Zelda's only problem is with her adult owners... we're not fond of the barking at night... shock collar? Nooooo, we wouldn't do that. Would we?
