Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy.... GIRL!

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Yep. We had the ultrasound today... and we're having another GIRL! I thought Courtney was going to choke at the ultrasound. He swears that 2 girls will be the end of him. HA! Well, for me, it means I get to re-use all Grace's little girl stuff... lots of hand-me-downs saves money... at least until they're 16... or worse, until they marry. :-) In the meantime, I see matching Easter dresses... ahhhhhh.

Wintertime Swimming Fun!

Monday, March 2, 2009

That's right... we went swimming in February! No, this was no crazy polar bear swimming club. We headed south (relatively speaking) to Branson, MO... Splash Country Indoors. What a fun place to go in the dead of winter... we even had snow on the ground while we were there! We stayed at the Grand Country Inn right there by the park. Your family gets into the water park free when you stay in the hotel! Or, you can buy a day pass... I believe they were $15 a person.
We went to the park Friday evening and played hard... hard enough that we wore out that little girl! Then, we woke up to snow Sat. morning, had a nice breakfast, and hit the park AGAIN! Grace couldn't get enough of the slides. What big fun. I guess we'll have to plan on going back again sometime.

Is it a Boy or a Girl?

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Well, good grief... I won't know until later next week. I had my 18 week appointment with the doc this week, and everything is good so far... but no "gender" ultrasound yet. He wants to wait until next week (week 19) so that he can get better images. I guess this is the time when they really begin checking for defects and such... so, we wait until next Wednesday. The good side of this is that I'll have my u/s at The Martin Center in Springfield which is a very nice (new) diagnostic facility, so my pics should be good. Yeah!

Shopping Shopping Shopping!

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

We decided to head to Lowe's the other day. And, of course, Grace (and Daddy) felt it absolutely necessary that they "try out" the tractors. Daddy dreamed of bigger decks and more horsepower while Grace focused on aesthetics... you know, color, seat comfort, how many cup holders it had... that's my girl.

We finally made it to the area we came for... the small appliances. Courtney and I have been using an ancient Posterior blender he bought back in the day of his Air Force run in Germany. While it's been a good blender, it's finally met it's match and has given up the ghost. So, we had Grace help us pick out our next blender... it was surprising how many and the range of prices Lowe's carries in blenders! We settled on the $39.99 Oster 16 speed blender w/ the brushed stainless base. I have to say, it's quite nice and the pitcher is wider which makes it easier for me to do my purees (for my Sneaky Chef cooking... but that's another post for a later day).

I decided to go on my next shopping trip on my own... Easter dress shopping for Grace. I've been checking out what's out there on ebay and Craigslist and places like that, but just wasn't finding what I wanted. But, I found it this past week. It is absolutely the most beautiful Easter dress I've seen... and I found it at TJ Maxx of all places! I have a white shrug she can wear with it when we're outside and it's cool. And we'll have to get some new shoes and A PURSE! She's gonna be so darn cute!
